Back to the future
We began our journey with Abraham‘s call and the adventure of faith. He introduced us to what we call the Holy Land. We discovered Holy Ground each time God opened our eyes, each time we heard fresh words and discovered new insight. As the stories echoed through the valleys, the places provided context and meaning and vision.
God said to Abraham: “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”
When Jesus walked the same ground, he put legs on God’s sacred pledge. Jesus was and is the “Blessing.” And, He has called us by name to be salt and light, to bring Good News to the poor, to release those held captive, to open blind eyes, to set the oppressed free, and to show grace and peace to everyone we meet.
In spite of customs, we brought Holy Ground back home. We are called to make a difference, to demonstrate grace and love and forgiveness. Holy Ground changes things. This journey has empowered us and given us a new future and a revived hope; so, we write new chapters as we explored unknown territory right here and right now.
We bless those around us, because we have been blessed. We forgive, because we have been forgiven, we accept others because Jesus has accepted us, and we love, because He first loved us. We stand on Holy Ground.
It is God’s Spirit that opens our eyes. Now, we can see the future in others, we can see the good in others before they can see it in themselves. We are compelled to be like Jesus.
We have returned, blessed to be a blessing.
We have touched the trees, sat on the rocks, experienced the dust and washed in the sea. We drank the living water, and it was good.
Thanks to John and Linda Francis, of Emerald Travel for making it happen. And, a special thanks to Michelle and Hillel for guiding our path.
So, as we turn the next page, let the new chapter begin.
May God give you more and more grace and peace as you grow in your knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord. 2 Peter 1:1-3
